The Spyderco Chaparral takes its name from a shrub native to the Western United States with the unique ability to perennially survive, revive and regenerate after being destroyed by drought or fire. In keeping with this concept, Spyderco will expand the unique Chaparral series each year to include a new model with new handle scales. Striking, unusual handle materials and texture patterns will be used. The blade of the gentleman folder is full flat ground from powder-metallurgical Carpenter CTS XHP steel. The front handle scale is made from black G10 and has a circular genuine mother of pearl inlay. The white G10 scale on the reverse side is inlaid with a red insert. The knife, which is so reminiscent of the Yin-Yang symbol, has a sturdy backlock and reversible deep-carry clip (tip-up/l-r).
