The Spyderco Chaparral Birdseye Maple takes its name from a shrub native to the western United States with the unique ability to live almost forever and even after droughts or fires to blossom again year after year. In keeping with this, the unique Chaparral series from Spyderco is supplemented every year by a model with new handle scales. Distinctive, rare handle materials and texture patterns are used. The Gentleman folder has a fully flat-ground blade made of the powder-metallurgical Carpenter steel CTS XHP. The handle scales of this version are made of Birdseye Maple, whose characteristic grain makes each knife unique. The strong backlock and the convertible deep-carry clip (tip-up/l-r) make it an exceptional and useful companion.
